About Us
More than 25 years ago, First Nazareth Baptist Church was championing a community outreach initiative that included a Soup Kitchen, food pantry and clothing distribution program for the Waverly area. The program was a sophisticated volunteer-driven effort that received much acclaim and recognition for several years.
Under the direction of Pastor Blakely N. Scott, a group of individuals were granted permission in 2002 to pursue the re-establishment of a non-profit entity to serve the broader community. The First Nazareth Foundation, Chaired by Lorenza Breedlove, was incorporated on March 21, 2003.
On May 1, 2007, the First Nazareth Foundation, Inc. became the Greater Waverly Foundation, Inc."
